If there is one place on the face of earth where all dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India .

ALL OF THE ABOVE IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, THE LIST COULD BE ENDLESS.

I hope you enjoyed it and work towards the welfare of INDIA .

Say proudly, I AM AN INDIAN.

Dear Ashish,
its a nice blog for sure....but with due respect, i think as an Indian, we dont need to have reasons to be proud of our motherland.....reasons are required to those who has doubt...isnt it? most of these achievement are good but sm of them are achieved by the NRIs who are working hard for america and every other nation except India....and we sud do smthing for India first only then we can say proudly that I AM AN INDIAN AND I AM PROUD OF IT.

Ashish Sharma said...

Dear NK,
I agree with your point and we need to change our system for this. Corruption and Bhai-Bhatijabad cutting out root and maximum Indian talent get opportunities from outside of India.

Nice Article.... .I am an Indian and proud to be one!!!

However it saddens me when i think that most of these people mentioned would may never have made it big if they stayed in India thanks to dirty politics and unnecesary red tape.....why are so many of our top brains working outside India.???? The cold plain truth is that we wait for our people to go outside India and get acknowledged by the West before acknowledging them.Once they get recognition there we pat ourselves on the back claiming to be responsible for the success....

There is no doubt in the fact that India have one of the most competent workforces in the world however we have to stop basking in the glory of the cream of society.Instead let us use their achievments to motivate us to develop our own Mother India.Development will only come the day the poorest of the poor are self sufficient.

Sorry if i was a little pessimistic but these are my genuine feelings. Jai Hind

if India is so great then why indians want to settle in foreighn??
why all the movies are shooted in foreign??
why a forighner is inserted into every indian film??
why 38% of indian doctors settle in usa?
lot of indians died due to poor medical facilities...
why 12% indian scientist are in usa?
india is not so advanced in technologies
if we proud to be an indian they why people of india rushing towards foreighn culture??
i m nt satisfied with this....

@Deepak

You're right, and India is not the only country that faces brain drain, as it is called. The fact is that young people - today's generation - must push for change slowly and steadily. There's too much red tape in India - cut that, and you might better entice people to stay in India and further her interests. :P

Still, I'm proud to be Indian :]

Most of your information are either facts of the past or the success of the NRIs (they are US citizens by the way and need visa to enter India).
We should be proud of who we are today and if ashamed with that identity, each individual should work to build a better nation.

I think I got this forward around 6 or 7 years back... Most of it is either about things that happened ages ago or about people who are no more associated with India... The basic problem seems to be language which comes with education. Why do we need so many languages? It just seems to create a divide.

Madhur said...

Great work indeed!!

Yes we are all proud to be Indians but with good name comes the huge responsiblity of the maintaining it. The name and fame is slowly loosing its charm and we need to make sure we stop the downfall.

the moment an indian feeels happy about this article he has gone the wrong way....

What the hell will i do of the rich people and the americans....There is no doubt that India was great in the past and it still has many scholars who r far better than any others in the world...but the basis of ur comparision itself shows how u feel about ur country...u r desperate to prove something just by comparing the facts and figure....Is microsoft the ultimate destination of every intelligent human being ????

i doubt the figures % of doctors in america to be so high....if u do some research u may also find the same...

If facts and figures are so important than

India has most cases of POLIO than anywhere else in world

India has most malnutritioned child than antwhere else in the world

also most number of people below poverty line.....most death of mother at time of pregnency...

BUT i still love INDIA ....I dont ned ur stupid facts to make me proud...

I am very sorry but I can not agree with this. The status of the country should be judged by the condition of the common people living here in India. In fact it's a shame that even after all of your statistics about 40 million people live under poverty line. According to official statement, in MadhyaPradesh alone near about 1 million children died due to malnutrition during the period 2004-2009 (for exact date and statistics one can see Frontline magazine). Having fourth richest man in the world does not mean the well being of the whole nation.

i am an indian, and proud of the fact as is. dont need these half cooked prehistoric facts to big myself up. a truth you have conveniently skipped is there was no country called India till the british came along and joined all the principalities under one banner. and it is time we indians gave up referring to past laurels and work hard to make it a ideal country TODAY.
